About Friday night...

I sold an original painting! At an art market pop-up last Friday evening.
I hadn't been bringing my original paintings to my art markets lately, but this last one I brought a handful and hung them up along with my usual table display of art prints, greeting cards, notepads and stickers. And lo and behold someone bought one of my favorite paintings! The customer said he was buying it for his mother - isn't that SO sweet?
I remember painting that painting. I got into a flow, it felt easy, it felt right, it felt like a little bit of magic happened when I was painting. That awesome feeling I strive for when making art - but is sometimes hard to get! I love the bright colors and how abstract it turned out - but you can still tell they are tulips. I hope the good vibes I had in creating this painting translate to the new owner.
I thought of the saying "if you don't ask the answer is always NO" - I wasn't bringing my paintings so no one could see them to even have a chance to say "yes" and buy them. A reminder that I should probably bring paintings to my pop-up markets more often. At least then, there is the possibility of someone purchasing one. Yes it might take years...but I have to believe that the right person is going to come along eventually!
FYI: If you like my "Peach Tulips" painting - it is available in art prints here
